The holidays are upon us, and we are definitely feeling the cheer. Between decorating the tree and singing along to our favorite Christmas tunes, there’s plenty to keep our spirits up even with all the stress of seeking out the perfect gifts at the best prices. Still, it’s nice to get out and about, so we’re looking at some of the top 2016 Christmas events and activities for you to enjoy around the Garden Grove, CA area.
Holidays at the Disneyland Resort
Seeing as how our location is just 17 minutes from this popular park, we can’t help but mention it as a fantastic way to make this holiday season special. Events last through Jan. 8, 2017 and include a Festival of Holidays that is a multi-cultural celebration, a special holiday light display, plenty of holiday-themed concerts, visits with Santa, holiday fireworks and much, much more.
Laguna Beach Winter Fantasy Sawdust Festival
Disneyland may be a bit too pricey for some, and it’s bound to be fairly crowded this time of the year. For something exciting but a tad bit more low key, you can head over to the Winter Fantasy festival in Laguna. Tickets are just $8 for adults, $6 for Seniors and $4.00 for children aged 6-12. Younger children happen to get in for free. This festival is held on weekends through the 18th and it’s an art fair with a winter wonderland theme.

Discovery Cube Winter Wonderfest
Parents know it’s more important than ever to create a love for science early on. Learn more about weather and snow, then take a ride down a 75-foot ramp on a real sled. There will be real snow play areas, so bring along some winter clothing and jackets. Children’s Christmas movies will also be playing throughout the day and there will be a gingerbread derby race, cookie decorating and pictures with Santa. Presale tickets are $5 for members and $7 for non-members, but standard pricing is $10.
]
We have to admit, we’re most excited for this event. Adult general admission is $34.99 to $49.99 depending on the day and if you pay ahead or at the door, while child admission (ages 4-11) ranges from $24.99 to $39.99. Why is it worth it? There’s an Alice in Winterland adventure that looks every bit as whimsical as it should be, along with the Glacier Glide Ice tubing, a 4d theater experience, a candy cane bounce and a lot more.
