There might not be a more recognizable vehicle in the Kia lineup than the Soul. The Kia Soul has such a unique design that it might not even look like a subcompact crossover SUV as it is classified. However, this design has been one of its biggest strengths over the years. When it comes to brass tacks, though, the engine is the most important aspect of any vehicle. Let’s check out the engine options of the 2020 Kia Soul.

2020 Kia Soul engine options 

There are five total trims available for the 2020 Soul and two different engine options. The LX (base), S, X-Line, and EX all come with one available engine. These models are fitted with a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine powered by 147 horses. The GT-Line trim comes standard with that same engine, but it can also be upgraded to have a 1.6-liter I-4 engine with 201 horsepower. Both engine options are great choices and will help you averages upwards of 30 combined mpg. The base engine is paired with a standard six-speed manual transmission, but drivers can opt for a two-speed CVT or a seven-speed auto-shift manual tranny.
