Welcome the all-new Carnival to the Kia lineup

2022 Kia Carnival passenger and cargo space

Have you heard? A new player has entered the game! The all-new Kia Carnival is being called a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) since it combines aspects of a traditional SUV with some of the spaciousness of a minivan. In fact, it will be taking the place of the Sedona in the Kia lineup. Available in four trims (LX, EX, SX, and SX Prestige), it has a bold and boxy design and some top features and amenities, but how much room does it have? Let’s get a closer look at the 2022 Kia Carnival passenger and cargo space.

2022 Kia Carnival seating capacity

This brand-new MPV provides seating for as many as seven or eight passengers, depending on the configuration. Crunching the numbers, that means 168.2 cubic feet of passenger volume. This interior features “Slide-Flex” seating, which allows for that eight-passenger seating and includes a sliding second-row center seat that gives the front passenger easier access to the baby or child who is riding in it when it is in its forward-most position. That seat can even be converted into a table! In higher trims, you can also find available heated and ventilated second-row VIP Lounge Seating with its own set of power controls and leg extensions for seven-passenger seating.

Total cargo volume

In all trims, the minimum amount of cargo space available is an impressive 40.2 cubic feet. In the SX Prestige trim, the maximum available cargo space is 86.9 cubic feet. In the LX, EX, and SX trims, however, you’ll have 145.1 cubic feet of total cargo volume available. Really, any way you slice it, you have a ton of room in the spacious new Kia Carnival!
